CYSA Player Development

CYSA is committed to the development of our players and works to ensure that all players are given the opportunity to learn and develop their soccer skills correctly and to the best of their ability.

The following programs have been implemented as part of the development strategies and we continue to look at other opportunities for all of our players.

*****************************************************************************************************

RugRats (age 3-4): A development program designed to introduce children to the game of soccer. Having Fun is the most important aspect at this age as we are trying to build confidence in each of the players. It is key that each child has a positive experience or else they could drop out of soccer. For more information, visit the RugRats page here.

Recreational Soccer (age 4-15): Held during the Fall months, this program offers our novice and experienced players to participate in a fun and educational season of soccer with an emphasis on FUN. Recreational Coaches will follow a curriculum to work on each players technical abilities, and at the same time ensuring all players get equal attention and opportunity during trainings and games. More details on our Recreational Program can be found here.

Competitive
Soccer (age 6-15): A program to develop skills, enforce technique and tactics, and create an environment of sportsmanship and fun. The program is built to prepare the players for the next level of soccer as thy compete against other towns and club programs. This program runs through the Winter and Spring, although some teams are formed during the Fall depending on player and coach interest. More information is found in the Competitive Program section of the website.

Competitive Select Program: The CSP is designed to provide coaching, training and soccer expertise to competitive A-level players that are looking to improve their skills in preparation for higher level soccer. The Select program mirrors the club team experience. The CSP program is explained in further detail here.

Summer Camps: Special week long camps held during the summer to keep players active in the sport of soccer. The trainings are done by outside expert trainers who emphasis improving technical ability while having fun. The camps are designed to work with players of all ages and abilities. Please visit the Camps section for details.

Supplemental Training: Throughout the course of the year, CYSA works to provide our players with additional training opportunities by engaging professional trainers with the experience and abilities to take our players to the next level of their development. These trainings will be posted on our website in the Training section and will be promoted through email communication. Please take advantage of these trainings to improve your player's skills.
